If you’re butch, your body is butch. Your boobs are butch, your hips are butch, your narrow shoulders or short stature are butch. Butchness does not have to be about passing as a man or achieving that lanky teen boy androgyny that’s pushed on us. Just being as we are is butch. It’s about us making and taking our space in the world, not fitting into a narrow standard of masculinity.

Having separate flags is good bcos it’s good to have a symbol for your particular identity to embrace but it also important to remember the rainbow flag unites us all. All LGBT+ people can use it. I feel like it’s somehow become assumed by a lot of younger lgbt+ people that it’s only fr gay men, which it isn’t and never has been

If you:

• Feel uncomfortable shopping in the Men’s section by yourself, this month people are less likely to give you shit and if they do–built in excuse!

I deeply wish someone had told me at a young age I could just… Not be with men. That that was a real option. Even past that I could be gay. Just that I didn’t have to be with men in any way. Learning that felt like learning to breathe.
